I don't know which version of Outlook or Thunderbird I'm using...
Simply click on the word "Help" on the top bar of your email program's window.
For Outlook / Outlook Express: Click on "About Outlook..."
For Mozilla Thunderbird: Click on "About Mozilla Tunderbird"
If you have trouble sending out e-mail
Check the following in your mail account settings:
- Use SMTP port number 587 if port 25 does not work. Some internet / cable providers block outgoing email not using their domain name.
- Make sure "Outbound Mail Requires Authentication" is set in your email application.
- SSL / Secure connections are optional and are not necessary to send and recieve email. However, it will enhance the security of your password being sent over the Internet.
